Welcome

Hello! Congratulations on this exciting time in your life!

My name is Donna Ore and I provide Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Bereavement Doula services, as well as Breastfeeding Counseling services in northern New Jersey.

After having children of my own, I understand the wave of emotions that can come with transitioning into a new realm of parenthood. Whether this is your first child or your 5th child, I am here to help make this transition easier on you and your family!

Birth is a beautiful (and messy!) moment in life. So many feelings come along with it – excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, fear, joy, relief, euphoria – just to name a few. The biggest thing during pregnancy about birth is the unknown. Part of my job is to help with that. Now, I can’t tell you when your baby is coming or how it will feel, but I can give you some comfort and support in other ways. I can teach you about your options and what to expect during labor, birth, and afterwards. I can provide pretty wonderful comfort techniques. I can provide encouragement and coach you. I can just be there for YOU.

I am a traditional doula that tends to use more holistic routes to support the body during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Allopathic, or conventional, medicine definitely has its benefits when the situation requires it and I have plenty of experience with medicated and cesarean births. In the meantime, focusing on the body wholistically is my primary focus. I am currently only attending birth center births and home births supported by midwives. I am happy to support free-birthers during your pregnancy and postpartum! I am training to be a Clinical Herbalist and Clinical Aromatherapist, but have completed my studies in pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infancy care.

I have experience with:

Cesarean Birth

Distance/Virtual Support

Hospital, Birth Center, and Home Birth

High Risk

Inductions

Laboring/Birth in Water

Medicated and Unmedicated Birth

VBAC

Premature Birth

Pregnancy/Birth after a Loss

When coming home, many parents tend to ask the question – “Now what?” You may feel unsure of what to do with your baby, how to take care of him or her. You may be feeling pretty uncomfortable from birth. You may be looking around the house, exhausted from lack of sleep, asking yourself how you can keep up with it all. As a Postpartum Doula, I can help with all of this! Think of me as your Fairy Godmother for when you come home from the hospital (or, if you’re having a homebirth, right after birth!). I can teach you everything you need to know about caring for your newborn. I can teach you what to expect in your own body after birth and tips on how to care for yourself. I can help with the house so you can rest and bond with your baby. And please – take a nap, take a shower, or go get some fresh air. With my experience, skills, and training, you can trust me to care for your newborn while you catch up on taking care of YOU.

My goal is to provide support every step of the way from pregnancy to birth to your beautiful baby. Please look around and contact me with any questions you may have!

Best Wishes,

Donna
