Bereavement Support- Gabriella’s Hugs

I am here to support a mother and her family through any type of birth in any trimester. Pregnancy and birth are joyous occasions, but sometimes the unexpected happens. If you or a loved one are experiencing a miscarriage in any trimester/any week, your child has a fatal diagnosis, you are having a planned or unplanned NICU experience, or a stillbirth please do not hesitate to contact me at any time. As a mommy to an angel myself, I understand the whirlwind of emotions a family can go through and the maze of options presented to them. Let me walk with you on this journey. You are not alone.

I not only support moms facing this difficult journey, but her family and friends as well. I support them through their grief and help them navigate support for their loved one. It takes a village…

I am also a Perinatal Bereavement Counselor at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. We hold several support groups as well as events. Please visit our website for more information: Good Samaritan Perinatal Bereavement Program

Gabriella’s Hugs is a support program for mothers experiencing a miscarriage. It offers access to a volunteer Bereavement Doula, someone who offers continuous support to families experiencing any birth outcome in any trimester, 24/7 and 365 days a year in northern New Jersey. Regardless if a Bereavement Doula is requested, Gabriella’s Hugs also offers a bereavement box to provide a mental “hug”- to let them know they are still a mother and that they are not alone.

Every box includes:

  • A local bereavement support resource list
  • A list of ways to honor your baby
  • Gabriella’s story
  • An affirmation card
  • Stuffed animal (contributed by Robby’s Rabbits)
  • Tissues
  • Candle
  • Journal
  • Tea
  • Picture Frame
  • Photo boxes

On Request:

  • Mini crochet hats for 15-20 gestational weeks, plus premie size
  • Blanket
  • Wee Care packages from the Sterling Stitchers of NY. Each “Wee Care” package has a hooded blanket or swaddle blanket, 2 tiny hats, 2 “Teeny Tears Diapers”, and a mini heart memory box. These packages are perfect for families who are able to hold their babies born before 20 weeks gestation. The idea of having 2 of the diapers and hats is one set can stay with the baby while the second set can stay with the family.

If you or someone you know is in need of support, please contact me.

We are always collecting items to include in our memory boxes. If you would like to contribute, please visit our Amazon list

Thank you VERY much for any contribution you can give!
